I spent the morning watching assorted bat beats on youtube (Devilfish cussing out at the dealer and Matusow ready to kill Seidel etc). So then:
Just two hands' worth of sample what happened to me today.
9-seated turbo, stacks are ~800-ish.
I hold Ad Kh and raise to 300.
Dealt to 2weiX [ Ad, Kh ]
** Dealing Flop ** [ 6s, Qs, Th ]
I raise it up a notch.
One caller, one caller all-in, I call all-in, third guy calls all-in.
** Dealing Turn ** [ Ks ]
** Dealing River ** [ 6c ]
Opturskenn shows [ Jc, Ac ]
electrohead shows [ Js, Ah ]
They split the pot with a straight.
Pre-Flop, I am ahead a whopping 70%, with a 20% chance of a tie.
Post-Flop. I am ahead 70%, with a 30% chance of a tie.
Of course, where "tie" means "I lose".
The second example is not so bad because I lose with Aces, but of the way HOW. I habe gotten used to not being able to hit a 9-outer after the flop (read: I lose most my nutflush-draws), but... (pretty much the same conditions as above):
I raise to 500
The guy reraises all-in, I am more than happy to comply.
bmw1958 shows [ Th, Tc ]
2weiX shows [ Ah, As ] (note: 80% favorite)
** Dealing Flop ** [ Qc, Ks, Kc ] (86%, even nicer)
** Dealing Turn ** [ 5c ]
** Dealing River ** [ 9c ]
bmw1958 wins 2,334 from main pot with a Flush
In addition: I played a BerlinCityPoker Freeroll for a Wii last night. Aftert two hours, I make it to the final table. Four people left. With the SECOND my girl steps into the door (back from Handball practise), I lose every hand. Love that girl. And love poker, of course....
